Lot's of great designing happening.  These designs are due this Friday.  Some of you are needing an interesting distraction from the Web POS and the Agenda Cover.  Take a look at this tutorial.  It show you how to use pictures of the ground to create  planets.  This is excellent practice in using different tools.  Have fun!

Let the photoshop experience flow!

We use Photoshop differently in Graphics then the Digital Photography students do.  We are interested in cool effects that can be applied to letter forms.  Over the next couple of weeks, we will work on becoming familiar (more familiar for some) with the ins and outs of Photoshop from a Graphic Design perspective.  We will also learn how to find, load and use brushes.  We will even learn how to manipulate the brushes and their product.

There is a new folder in the "N" drive.  It is for the Jerry Marshall Awards Program.  This event  takes place in Spring semester.  It is a great project for someone looking for other projects.

Turn-in folders for the POS in color and black & white are ready for you.  The POS must be turned in by Thursday to be considered for the cover contest.  Remember to print off the 2 versions of the POS.  The B&W version may need to be adjusted to suit a copy machine.  Opacity will help with this or outlining instead of filling.

You will be working on your text and icon designs.  These must be placed in the critique turn-in folder in the "N" drive today!  If you feel that you have completed this logo, you must be working on other Computer Graphic designing.  Some of you may be completing the tutorials, or you may be working the DNR sticker design.  Go to the Computer Graphics tab for suggestions or links.

I have about half of the template tracing assignments graded.  A handful of people have incompletes so far.  See me for help creating a template, or for help using the pen tool.

We are continuing working on the tutorials today.  Tutorial #2 is due today.  It is a little simpler than the first tutorial.

Welcome to the Digital Art's Blog.  We will use this blog to link to website tutorials and other interesting topics related to Computer Graphics.

All the type/icon logo sketches are graded. We will be completing several tutorials as we prepare to create a full color type/icon logo designed using only Illustrator.

1. You will be following this tutorial to practice using tools in Illustrator.  You will be creating an interesting logo made from circles and that has cast shadows. This tutorial is due Monday.

2. This second tutorial uses the transformation tool menu. You will learn how to change the shape of your letters using this new menu option. It is due Tuesday.

3. The next set of tutorials will give you a change to draw using Illustrator.  Choose one of the following tutorials to complete by next Wednesday.
