Agenda Cover

                           Agenda Cover

To do first:
-View actual examples of agenda covers from over the years at Lincoln, and those from other school.
-Research designs online.
-Create 10 sketches for the agenda design.  These designs should be icon/image and font based.  Include The Lincoln High School and the year at minimum.  You can also include quotes, images and designs.  The sketches should be basic, mostly showing the placement or layout of important design elements.
-The design can be based on Lincoln, Lincoln High School or visually exciting design.  Design something you would want to use.
-Create a folder for the project and in it 2 more folders, one for fonts and one for images.  Start collecting content for these folders for you to use later.
-Keep the 10% rule or use original photographs or drawing for your work.
-Be clever and think out of the box and off of the line.

Programs and Layout

Your agenda design is a tool that students can with them throughout the day.  What would be cool or interesting to you and your classmates?
Use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or both.
Dimensions: 5” wide & 8” tall
Use guidelines to create a ¼” extra space.  The area within the guideline will fit the cover.  The purpose of the “bleed area” is to accommodate the rounded corners of the agenda cover.
This is a full color design.
It should have layers to create depth.  Find texture and paint brushes online to create visual interest.

Design dimensions are as follows:
·         300 dot resolution (155 lines)
·         5” x 8” (pull in margins)

Monday

Let the photoshop experience flow!

We use Photoshop differently in Graphics then the Digital Photography students do.  We are interested in cool effects that can be applied to letter forms.  Over the next couple of weeks, we will work on becoming familiar (more familiar for some) with the ins and outs of Photoshop from a Graphic Design perspective.  We will also learn how to find, load and use brushes.  We will even learn how to manipulate the brushes and their product.

Upcoming projects:

1. Program of Studies for the web
2. 2013-2014 Agenda Cover
3. Website Design

Other Projects:
1. State Park Sticker
2. Jerry Marshall Program
